Call for Applications – 2025 Courage in Journalism Award!

The Studies and Economic Media Center (SEMC) and the Marsadak (Yemeni Media Freedoms Observatory) are pleased to announce the opening of nominations for the 2025 Courage in Journalism Award. This annual Award is granted to Yemeni journalists and women journalists, who have demonstrated exceptional professional courage and a strong commitment to the values of free journalism despite threats and risks.

Award Criteria:
Professionalism and ethical commitment
Courage in journalistic practice
Social impact of the submitted works

Eligibility Period:
From August 14, 2024, to August 14, 2025

Deadline for Submission:
September 5, 2025 – 11:59 PM (Yemen time)
Male and Female Journalists may apply directly, or be nominated by colleagues, media institutions, or human rights organizations.
