The Artificial Intelligence Session
In a session on artificial intelligence and enhancing innovation in media, investigative journalist Abdulatif Hajj Mohammed conducted a training workshop on using AI tools to improve the quality of journalistic content, making it more engaging and impactful.
With the rapid pace of digital transformations, artificial intelligence is playing a vital role in reshaping various industries, including journalism, by streamlining daily operations and fostering innovation in content production.
The session was moderated by Mohammed Mahroos, the Editorial Director of the “Hakika” platform, and attended by 160 of participants. Haj discussed the significant role of artificial intelligence in advancing journalism, including enhancing content creation, data analysis, and understanding audience behavior. He also noted that AI is reshaping traditional work practices and boosting productivity, which requires journalists to familiarize themselves with AI terminology to effectively harness these capabilities.
Haj also highlighted how newsrooms can benefit from the services and skills offered by AI, particularly in content creation, data analysis, classification, understanding audience behavior, and providing professional translation services.
He added that AI not only processes data but goes beyond that to perform more precise tasks, even delving into sentiment analysis, storytelling, and content creation as a creator, not just a processor.
He called for the development of media workers’ skills to keep pace with technological developments and integrate AI tools to promote collaboration between journalist and machine.
Mr. Hajj also highlighted that AI is not only data processing, but it also goes beyond analysis of emotions, storytelling and content innovation.
