Marsadak calls on the security authorities in Hadhramaut to stop persecuting journalists

The Media Freedoms Observatory in Yemen condemned the arbitrary practices against journalists by the security authorities in Hadramout Governorate

In the press release that the observatory received a copy of, the journalists Muhammad Abdul-Wahhab Al-Yazidi, Muhammad Al-Sharafi and Sabri bin Makhashin reported that the governorate’s governor, Faraj Salmin Al-Bahsani, issued a circular to the security and military points, arresting them under the pretext of publishing corruption cases and criticizing the living situation and the collapse of public services in Hadramout.

The observatory called on the governor of the governorate and the security authorities to assume their responsibility in protecting journalists and to stop pursuing them, and not to involve them in political conflicts.
