Violations Cases Against Media in Yemen In Dec 2022
The Media Freedoms Observatory in Yemen released its monthly report “Infographic” on the status of media freedoms and the arbitrary practices against journalists and media outlets.
During December, the Observatory recorded five (5) cases of violations in
Taiz, Marib and Hadramawt governorates.
Violations varied between two (2) cases of assault and (3) cases of interrogation and prosecution of journalists against the background of their media activity.
The report pointed out the parties committed such violations, as the Yemeni government committed three (3) cases, while the two other cases committed by unknown entities.
The Media Freedoms Observatory in Yemen is a monitoring and information platform aimed at disseminating all matters relating to freedom of expression in various governorates of Yemen in a professional and independent manner, as well as analyzing and advocating for journalists’ issues at the local and international levels.
