“Resilience” A workshop for Media Freedoms Observatory in Yemen
Media Freedom Observatory in Yemen organized a zoom workshop on Wednesday, 31 May 2023 about resilience through, find out the internal and external factors to gain and how to improve it themselves and others. The workshop has come within the project of media freedoms promotion which implements by MFO. It has presented by the Dutch expert (Anne Don) that attended 30 journalists from various Yemeni governorates.
It presented in how people reach and use the resilience through finding out the internal and external factors and doing exercises offered to participants such as drawing and writing words, plus expressing their surrounded factors by using the focus point on senses associated to positive factors that help to develop the resilience.
Also, Don has confirmed about the importance of figure out the resilience’s keys to gain the internal and external resources, which calm the people alarm- bill so they can face difficulties around them.
At the end of the session, the trainer guided the journalists with methods and exercises to create the internal peace, figure out the sources of psychological support for oneself and address the psychological challenges and crises in which a person falls, their continuity and the resulting positive factors that rid him of stress and depression.
In addition; Anal Mansoor (Editor-in-chief of Aden Al-Amal electronic journal) said, “I founded that leaving everything behind me and had the chance to find the peace inside me through this workshop, which it had many of Important indicative mechanisms and techniques to gain the resilience.”
Plus, Haifa Al-Odaini (Psychological support coordinator) confirmed that the workshop held to promote the psychological conscious to the journalists and focus on the importance of psychological care besides individual sessions offered by the Media Freedoms Observatory months ago.
Media Freedoms Observatory in Yemen is a monitoring and information platform aimed to disseminate all matters relating to freedom of opinion and expression in various regions of Yemen in a professional and independent manner, including the analysing and advocating for journalists’ issues at the local and international levels.
